If you have placed in the top three (any wt class/ division) in any of our Series meets from 2009 and 2010, you are qualified to compete in the final. I will have a link to a listing of the qualified athletes here soon. **Update August 28nd, 2010 - The Omega Strongman Challenge results are up on our contests/ results page. - Deadline for ILSM within a couple of weeks. I will have a link to our registered athletes soon. - Deadline for Muscle On Main within three weeks. - The September issue of our on-line Mag, ILSA, will be available Sept. 15th. **Update August 22nd, 2010 - Congrats to Heath Thiel...Heath is now the Wisconsin Chairmen for the North American Highlander Association (NAHA). Once Heath gets established we are looking forward to working with Heath and Jason Bever (IL - NAHA) with the possibility of setting up a midwest series. - Should have the results of the Omega Strongman Challenge soon... - In an effort to promote strength athletics in general we will be including into our Illinois Strongman Association (ILSA) sanctioned and unsanctioned strongman meets, North American Highlander Association (NAHA) meets as well as exclusive ILSA meets. Looking to possibly include some powerlifting meets as well. **Update August 3rd, 2010 - Dr. Rob Richardson has sent me his Muscle On Main Street entry. Check the entry out on our 2010 Format page. - The Illinois Hercules is slatted for Oct. 23rd at Montgomery, IL. Events are being worked on right now. If you have placed in the top three (any wt class/ div) in any of our Illinois Ultimate Strength Series meets in 2009 and/ or 2010, you are quailified to compete in the Illinois Hercules. - We may launch a ILSA Power Meet within the next few months. It will be a ILSA meet only. Think powerlifting but with a twist. **Update July 29th, 2010 -ILSM: Just giving a heads up...the arm over arm event may be altered somewhat. Won't know for certian till I see the set up at the venue. There is a chance we won't be in the same spot as the last few years, but down a side street. This may warrant us to alter the arm over arm event a little. Once we find out more I will be sure to post it here............Thanks. - Also, updated records to cover the Powercorp meet. - As well as posted the results from the Tolono meet. I need to go over the events of the Tolono meet and see if any events were eligible for records. **Update July 24th, 2010 - Congrats to everyone that participated today in the Powercorps Challenge II. It was real good to see everyone again. The plan is to have an extensive write-up included with our September issue of our ILSA On-line Mag. Daniel McCarron and his crew at Jakked Hardcore busted butt all day. Results from today....
- Have to check our records however I do believe Jan Walkosz, John Schmidt and Jamie Lewis made a state record in the max log press today. The Log was a sub event when the Viking Press implement had a boo-boo. **Update July 23rd, 2010 - Good luck to everyone that will be competing at the Powercorps Challenge II in Montgomery, IL at the legendary Illinois mecca of Strongman training, Jakked Hardcore!! **Update July 11th, 2010 - Still waiting for video/ record coverage from Battle of the Beach contest (Pontoon Beach, IL). Once we get the promised video coverage we will update our ILSA Records. - Also, still waiting to get contest results from the Tolono Fun Days. Once John Beatty is done playing with America's Got Talent, I am sure he'll get the stuff in.....Good Luck John, we're all rooting for you. **Update July 9th, 2010 Congrats to our very own Jason Bever. **Update July 7th, 2010 Giant think tank time....Here is a question for you... If you were in charge of ILSA, or any other sporting organization for that matter, how would you go about running it? There are no wrong answers, just your ideas and opinions. How are we doing? They put their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor on the line for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Through their sacrifices we have enjoyed our freedoms and prospered like no other nation on earth. The United States of America is exceptional and we must always be vigilant to the threats of our beloved Constitution, foreign and domestic.
